Movement-Based Rehabilitation for Neurological Health

At Fortify Movement & Health, our accredited Exercise Physiologists deliver clinician-led, evidence-based rehabilitation for people living with neurological conditions. We understand that neurological health requires a specialised, responsive approach — one grounded in the latest clinical evidence and tailored to each individual's needs, goals, and circumstances.

Exercise is a clinically validated intervention across a broad range of neurological conditions. Whether you are managing an acute neurological event or a progressive condition, structured movement programming can improve function, reduce secondary complications, and meaningfully enhance quality of life.

Stroke & Acquired Brain Injury

Exercise physiology plays a clinically validated role in post-stroke and ABI rehabilitation. Our accredited practitioners design progressive movement programs to restore function, improve balance, and build strength — supporting neuroplasticity and long-term recovery.

  • Balance and gait retraining
  • Functional strength programming
  • Neuroplasticity-informed exercise

Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Evidence-based exercise intervention is integral to MS management. We work collaboratively with your medical team to develop tailored programs that address fatigue, mobility, and overall wellbeing — adapting across relapsing and progressive phases.

  • Fatigue and energy management
  • Adaptive exercise prescription
  • Symptom-aware progression

Parkinson's Disease

Exercise is one of the most evidence-supported interventions for Parkinson's disease. Our clinically trained exercise physiologists prescribe targeted programs addressing motor control, rigidity, postural stability, and fall prevention.

  • Motor control and coordination
  • Postural stability training
  • Fall prevention strategies

Spinal Cord Conditions

Managing spinal cord conditions requires specialised clinical knowledge and individualised programming. Our accredited practitioners develop evidence-based exercise plans to optimise function, reduce secondary complications, and support independence.

  • Individualised functional programming
  • Cardiovascular and musculoskeletal health
  • Independence and quality-of-life focus

Our Clinical Approach

We take a thorough, whole-person view of neurological rehabilitation — combining clinical rigour with a genuinely human approach. Every program begins with comprehensive assessment and is built around your specific condition, history, and goals.

  • Accredited Exercise Physiologists with specialist experience in neurological support and Neuro-Affirming practice
  • Evidence-based programming aligned with current clinical guidelines
  • Individualised assessment, including AxIT strength testing and Tanita body composition analysis where indicated
  • Collaborative care — we work alongside your medical and allied health team
  • Self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants welcome, as well as DVA funded clients
  • Delivered with clinical expertise and genuine compassion at our Altona North clinic

How Neuro Motion Differs from General Exercise Programming

Specialist Knowledge

Our accredited exercise physiologists hold specialist understanding of neurological conditions, applying evidence-based protocols tailored to each diagnosis.

Group & Individual Sessions

Neuro Motion runs as both structured group classes and individual clinical sessions — giving participants the social benefits of group exercise alongside personalised clinical attention.

Outcome-Focused Programming

Every session is designed around measurable functional goals — improving balance, coordination, strength, mobility, and independence in daily life.

Getting Started with Neuro Motion

A referral from your GP, neurologist, or treating specialist is welcomed but not always required. Our team at Fortify Movement & Health will conduct an initial clinical assessment to understand your diagnosis, functional goals, and funding situation before recommending the most appropriate program pathway for you.
